Abigail “The Maestro” Browning – Abigail is a creative force to be reckoned with – a poet, dance instructor, photographer, and choreographer of an international dance craze called Gangbusters. She is channeling her creative forces at UNC Greensboro, working on her MFA in Creative Writing and sitting as co-founder of Tate Street High Society & Co. Abigail enjoys being crafty with a glue gun, witty sarcasm, and Boggle smackdowns.
Kristy “The Instigator” Milliken – This jazz baby has been in the spotlight since her wee years, dancing on TV at just a few months old and playing saxophone through high school and college. She spends her spare time collecting music, organizing volunteer endeavors for her church, and being a domestic goddess. Kristy also has the secret recipe for Tennessee T cakes…and she’s not sharing.
Heidi “Ice Princess” Reule – If the X-Games had swing dancing, you can bet Heidi would be in it. Heidi has jumped out of planes, skateboarded, and lived a past life as a competitive ice skater. She is currently taking a breather to devote time to nursing school while figuring out which extreme sport to take up next. Heidi volunteers her free time working with adults with developmental disabilities through the Autism Society.
Elizabeth “The Riveter” Tietgen – This lightweight member of the fascinators packs a huge heart. Elizabeth is the mastermind behind the Triangle Tap Project, an organization that raises money for UNICEF to provide clean water in developing countries. She boasts a wide skill set, from operating a drill press to theater set design, and loves old movies, traveling, and playing her ukelele.
Laura “DJ Pinup” Windley – Laura is vintage scooter enthusiast and sings a mean rendition of Sabotage. She is also the female vocalist for the Mint Julep Jazz Band and serves as the level-headed co-organizer of the RDU Rent Party. Laura writes about clothing for swing dancers in her blog, Lindy Shopper, and is the tireless fashion coordinator for The Carolina Fascinators.
